Ropes & Gray and Sullivan & Cromwell advised on the $1.3 billion sale of Brazilian retailer Grupo BIG (formerly Walmart Brazil) to French retailer Carrefour; Sullivan & Cromwell represents Canadian Pacific Railway Limited (CP) in its $29 billion merger with US-based Kansas City Southern (KCS), which will connect freight customers to Canada, the United States and Mexico on a single network for the first time in history; White & Case advised Brazilian retailer GPA on the spin-off of its wholly owned subsidiary Sendas Distribuidora and Davis Polk advised Brazilian sugar and ethanol company Cosan on a corporate restructuring.
