Cooley, Davis Polk Advise $1.2 Bln Lavoro SPAC Deal


Cleary Gottlieb, Mayer Brown, Nelson Mullins advise Brazil, Mexico deals.

Cooley and Davis Polk are advising on Brazil-based Lavoro Agro’s merger with special purpose acquisition company TPB Acquisition Corp I, in a deal that values the agricultural products retailer at $1.2 billion; Cleary Gottlieb is representing French insurance company CNP Assurances in the acquisition of the stakes held by Caixa Seguridade and Icatu Seguros in five companies that distribute insurance, savings and consórcio products; Mayer Brown advised on the $2.2 billion sale of Brazil-based steel company Companhia Siderúrgica do Pecém (CSP) to Luxembourg-based ArcelorMittal, the world's largest steel group and Cooley and Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough advised on the $12 million Series A investment round of Mexican startup Plerk.
