Milbank Advises $2.2 Bln Brazil Deal, Avianca-GOL Merger

Milbank has advised three major deals – the merger of Colombian airline Avianca with Brazilian carrier Gol; the $2.2 billion New Fortress Energy sale of a Brazilian power plant to Brazilian energy firm Eneva and Chilean retailer Cencosud’s acquisition of The Fresh Market in a deal that values the latter at $1.6 billion; Paul Hastings advised on the $174 million Embraer-Aernnova Aerospace deal; Morrison & Foerster advised SoftBank Latin America Fund in connection with its $150 million Series C funding round in Mexico-based digital freight forwarder Nowports; Simpson Thacher advised on the deal between SCC Power Plc, MSU Energy Holding and Stoneway Capital Corporation; the Somar-Procaps deal and the $110 million equity investment in Dock and Carey Olsen advised Brazilian B2B fintech Marvin on its $15 million Series A funding round and Brazilian clean energy distributor Nextron on its $2.28 million Series Seed funding round.
