Akin Gump and Baker McKenzie advised German energy firm DEA Deutsche Erdoel AG on its $500 million acquisition of Mexico-based Sierra Oil & Gas; Cleary Gottlieb advised Argentina-based energy company PCR on $108 million project financing and Atlanta-based Smith, Gambrell & Russell (SGR) announced the opening of its Miami office and hire of Latin America focused attorneys from Greenberg Traurig.
