Jones Day Expands Latin America Focus

Brazil and Mexico drive Latin America business, with growing help from Miami.

The opening of a new office in Miami is the latest move by Jones Day to boost its focus on Latin America. “With our new Miami office, we will boost our work in the region,” says Luis Riesgo, Chairman of Jones Day's Latin America practice and Partner-in-Charge of the firm's Brazil office.  

Last week, Rafael Aguilar -- former co-chair of Akerman Senterfitt's Latin American and Caribbean practice -- joined the Miami office of Jones Day as a partner in the Banking& Finance Practice.

The move comes only two months after the Mexico office hired two new partners. Thanks to another three partners hired there this year, the Mexico office now boasts 37 lawyers.
