Latin America Insurance: Principal Jumps

Latin America insurance sector grows, with US and Venezuelan insurers leading the way.

US-based Principal has replaced Spain-based Mapfre as Latin America’s third-largest insurer, according to a ranking of the region’s top 100 insurance companies from Latino Insurance. The ranking is based on 2012 premiums.

Brazil’s Bradesco and Itau remain the largest and second-largest insurers.
