Cleary Gottlieb, Shearman Advise $5.2 Bln Petrobras Offer


U.S. law firms advised on almost $10 billion in Latin American offers.

Cleary Gottlieb and Shearman & Sterling advised on the $5.2 billion offer of shares in Brazilian state oil company Petrobras sold by development bank BNDES; Cleary Gottlieb represented Dominican Republic  on two bonds worth a combined $2.5 billion, Mexican airline Aeromexico’s $400 million offer and the underwriters on the $330 million offer by Brazilian medical education group Afya Limited; Paul Hastings and Cleary advised on the $350 million offer from Mexico-based leasing and commercial lending company Mega; Paul Hastings advised  Mexico-based Credivalores – Crediservicios on its $300 million offer;  White & Case has advised on $1.2 billion offers from Brazilian state electricity company Eletrobrás;  Jones Day represented Telefónica Celular del Paraguay on its $250 million offer and Hogan Lovells advised Ecuador’s recent $400 million offer.
