ICSID: Arnold & Porter Secures Chile Victory

World Bank tribunal rules in protracted and highly complex case.


Arnold & Porter secured a victory for its client, the Republic of Chile, in a 19-year old case at The World Bank’s International Center for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID).

The case, which Arnold & Porter attorneys have called highly complex, became the longest running at the arbitration forum and related to the expropriation of a newspaper during the 1973 coup that ousted then-Chilean President Salvador Allende.
