Latin America: Smartphone Sales Jump
Smartphones jump, feature phone slump. Brazil leads growth.

Brazil leads smartphone growth in Latin America, followed by Colombia and Mexico, according to market researcher IDC.
Meanwhile, Chile and Venezuela are the losers, due to their weakening economies.
Despite the overall boom in smartphone sales in Latin America, the wireless phone market as a whole is barely growing. That’s because wireless feature phones – a still significant portion of the market – is seeing a similar decline.
